TWIRL 040 (11/10/11): Understanding Personal God

God is three people: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Together they make up the person of God. The focus here will be on the characteristics of the person of God that will empower you to a lifestyle of confident effective productive recovery. In William P. Young’s book, The Shack (2007), he writes that when we do not trust God and lack confidence in Him, it is because we do not believe that He loves us. It’s not that we don’t believe in God. It’s not that we don’t believe in the power and authority of God. It’s not what we believe in what God can do. We may believe in the power and authority of God and yet still not trust Him or be confident in our faith. The issue is what we do or don’t believe that God will do. We do not have confidence in what God will do because we struggle so to believe that God loves us.
