Three versions of the Bible are each descriptive in their own way to help us to see Jesus the man for who he was as a man so that we can better understand and appreciate what he really did for us through his death; and to gain a better grasp on who he is today advocating on our behalf at the right hand of the Father. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in\u00a0Christ Jesus,\u00a0who, although He\u00a0existed in the\u00a0form of God,\u00a0did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,\u00a0but\u00a0emptied Himself, taking the form of a\u00a0bond-servant, and\u00a0being made in the likeness of men.\u00a0Being found in appearance as a man,\u00a0He humbled Himself by becoming\u00a0obedient to the point of death, even\u00a0death on a cross. <\/strong>Philippians 2:5-8 (NASB)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Therefore, since we have a great\u00a0high priest who has\u00a0passed through the heavens, Jesus\u00a0the Son of God, let us hold fast our\u00a0confession.\u00a0For we do not have\u00a0a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet\u00a0without sin.\u00a0Therefore let us\u00a0draw near with\u00a0confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. <\/strong>Hebrews 4:14-16 (NASB)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,\u00a0who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,\u00a0but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant,\u00a0<em>and<\/em>coming in the likeness of men.\u00a0And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to\u00a0<em>the point of<\/em> death, even the death of the cross. <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Philippians 2:5-8 (NKJV)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast\u00a0<em>our<\/em> confession.\u00a0For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all\u00a0<em>points<\/em> tempted as\u00a0<em>we are, yet<\/em> without sin.\u00a0Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.<\/strong> Hebrews 4:14-16 (NKJV)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Though he was God, <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>he did not think of equality with God <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>as something to cling to. <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>he took the humble position of a slave <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>and was born as a human being. <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>When he appeared in human form, <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>he humbled himself in obedience to God <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>and died a criminal\u2019s death on a cross. <\/strong>Philippians 2:5-8 (NLT)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe.\u00a0This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.\u00a0So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.<\/strong> Hebrews 4:14-16 (NLT)<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">What temptations would you say that Jesus experienced as a human being?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">What temptations experienced by Jesus would be similar to what tempts you?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">According to what you have learned about the human experience of Jesus on the earth, how might Jesus have experienced\u00a0and\/or been tempted\u00a0by the following ?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Are there temptations that you experience that you would say Jesus did not experience or was he immune? Please explain.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Why is it so essentially important that we understand the fully human characteristics of Jesus while he lived on the earth for more than 33 years?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Can you identify better with Jesus Christ who better identifies with you because He remembers His human experience? Explain.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">How does the fact that Jesus sympathizes with your humanity help you to pray?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">What might you ask of Jesus more fully realizing the extent to which He knows and understands you?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">How would you say that your appreciation of the humanity of Jesus perhaps gives the season of His crucifixion, condemnation, and resurrection some deeper meaning?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">How much more would you say that this appreciation and admiration of what Jesus accomplished for you empower you in your daily life circumstances?
