FREEdom from MEdom at its core is about the secret of a contented satisfied life as Apostle Paul declares in Philippians 4. Psalm 84 is all about having a heart set on the pilgrimage on the journey with Jesus, discovering rich revelation of truth all along the way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Psalm 84<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><sup id=\"en-NIV-15261\">1<\/sup> How lovely is your dwelling place, <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">LORD Almighty! <\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><sup id=\"en-NIV-15262\">2<\/sup> My soul yearns, even faints, <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">for the courts of the LORD; <\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">my heart and my flesh cry out <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">for the living God. <\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><sup id=\"en-NIV-15263\">3<\/sup> Even the sparrow has found a home, <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">and the swallow a nest for herself, <\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> <span style=\"color: #000000;\"> where she may have her young\u2014<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">a place near your altar, <\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> <span style=\"color: #000000;\"> LORD Almighty, my King and my God. <\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><sup id=\"en-NIV-15264\">4<\/sup> Blessed are those who dwell in your house; <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">they are ever praising you.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><sup id=\"en-NIV-15265\">5<\/sup> Blessed are those whose strength is in you, <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">whose hearts are set on pilgrimage. <\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><sup id=\"en-NIV-15266\">6<\/sup> As they pass through the Valley of Baka (means &#8216;weeping&#8217; or &#8216;tears&#8217;), <\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> <span style=\"color: #000000;\"> they make it a place of springs; <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">the autumn rains also cover it with pools. <\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><sup id=\"en-NIV-15267\">7<\/sup> They go from strength to strength, <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">till each appears before God in Zion.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><sup id=\"en-NIV-15268\">8<\/sup> Hear my prayer, LORD God Almighty; <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">listen to me, God of Jacob. <\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><sup id=\"en-NIV-15269\">9<\/sup> Look on our shield,\u00a0O God; <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">look with favor on your anointed one.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><sup id=\"en-NIV-15270\">10<\/sup> Better is one day in your courts <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">than a thousand elsewhere; <\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God <\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> <span style=\"color: #000000;\"> than dwell in the tents of the wicked. <\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><sup id=\"en-NIV-15271\">11<\/sup> For the LORD God is a sun and shield; <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">the LORD bestows favor and honor; <\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><em> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">no good thing does he withhold <\/span><\/em><em>from those whose walk is blameless<\/em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><sup id=\"en-NIV-15272\">12<\/sup> LORD Almighty, <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">blessed is the one who trusts in you.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This Psalm was written by someone other than David. When the Psalmist wrote this he did not have the Holy Spirit dwelling in his body like we do in relationship with the Risen Savior. It&#8217;s important to consider this context while responding to the following questions.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Verse 1: Where did the Lord dwell?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Verse 2: What did it mean for the psalmist to yearn uncontrollably to be in the presence of the living God?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Verse 3: What did it mean for the psalmist when he observed that even the birds laid their nests and raised their young near the altar of God?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Verse 4: What does it mean to dwell in the house of the Lord, ever praising Him?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Verse 5:\u00a0What did it mean for the psalmist whose strength was found in a heart set on the pilgrimage in relationship with God? What do you think it was to be in relationship with God before the truth of the New Testament in revelation of redemption through the gracious mercy of the cross and resurrection of the Savior?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Verse 6:\u00a0What did it mean for the psalmist referencing passage through the Valley of Baka, meaning sorrow and weeping?
