{"id":1134,"date":"2010-11-02T12:57:46","date_gmt":"2010-11-02T17:57:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.freedomfrommedom.com\/member\/?p=1134"},"modified":"2010-11-02T13:01:33","modified_gmt":"2010-11-02T18:01:33","slug":"recovery-scripture-00027","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.freedomfrommedom.com\/member\/word-for-today\/recovery-scripture-00027","title":{"rendered":"Recovery Scripture 00027"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Matthew 5:1-14 (NLT)<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> God blesses those who are humble,<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">for they will inherit the whole earth.<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">for they will be satisfied.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> God blesses those who are merciful,<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">for they will be shown mercy.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">8<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> God blesses those whose hearts are pure,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">for they will see God.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">9<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> God blesses those who work for peace,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">for they will be called the children of God.<\/span><br \/>\n<sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">10<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">11<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cGod blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you<\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> <sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">12<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Be happy about it! Be very<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #444444; line-height: 24px; font-size: 16px;\"><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">13<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cYou are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h5>\n<p><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">14<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cYou are the light of the world\u2014like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.<\/span> <\/span><sup>15<\/sup> <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">No one<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket.
