Psalm 27<\/span><\/h2>\n
A psalm of David.<\/span><\/h5>\n

1<\/span><\/sup> The Lord\u00a0is my light and my salvation\u2014
\nso why should I be afraid?
\nThe Lord\u00a0is my fortress, protecting me from danger,
\nso why should I tremble?
\n2<\/sup> When evil people come to devour me,
\nwhen my enemies and foes attack me,
\nthey will stumble and fall.
\n3<\/sup> Though a mighty army surrounds me,
\nmy heart will not be afraid.
\nEven if I am attacked,
\nI will remain confident.<\/span><\/p>\n

4<\/span><\/sup> The one thing I ask of the Lord\u2014
\nthe thing I seek most\u2014
\nis to live in the house of the Lord\u00a0all the days of my life,
\ndelighting in the Lord\u2019s perfections
\nand meditating in his Temple.
\n5<\/sup> For he will conceal me there when troubles come;
\nhe will hide me in his sanctuary.
\nHe will place me out of reach on a high rock.
\n6<\/sup> Then I will hold my head high
\nabove my enemies who surround me.
\nAt his sanctuary I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy,
\nsinging and praising the Lord\u00a0with music.<\/span><\/p>\n

7<\/span><\/sup> Hear me as I pray, O Lord.
\nBe merciful and answer me!
\n8<\/sup> My heart has heard you say, \u201cCome and talk with me.\u201d
\nAnd my heart responds, \u201cLord, I am coming.\u201d
\n9<\/sup> Do not turn your back on me.
\nDo not reject your servant in anger.
\nYou have always been my helper.
\nDon\u2019t leave me now; don\u2019t abandon me,
\nO God of my salvation!
\n10<\/sup> Even if my father and mother abandon me,
\nthe Lord\u00a0will hold me close.<\/span><\/p>\n

11<\/span><\/sup> Teach me how to live, O Lord.
\nLead me along the right path,
\nfor my enemies are waiting for me.
\n12<\/sup> Do not let me fall into their hands.
\nFor they accuse me of things I\u2019ve never done;
\nwith every breath they threaten me with violence.
\n13<\/sup> Yet I am confident I will see the Lord\u2019s goodness
\nwhile I am here in the land of the living.<\/span><\/p>\n

14<\/span><\/sup> Wait patiently for the Lord.
\nBe brave and courageous.
\nYes, wait patiently for the Lord.<\/span><\/p>\n
